Faruq Abdulla was born at Nilphamari, Bangladesh. He is a founder member of Cancer Care and Research Trust Bangladesh (CCRTB). He is presently working as Research Officer in RTM International. Most recently, he was a data artist of “Household Interview Survey under the Feasibility Study & Preliminary Design of Dhaka Subway Project”. In addition, he was a guest faculty at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in Uttara University. He has completed his B.Sc (Honors) and M.Sc degrees in Statistics from Islamic University, Kushtia, Bangladesh in 2013 (held in 2014) and 2014 (held in 2016), respectively. He was ranked 1st position at both B.Sc and M.Sc levels with Gold Medal for securing highest marks in the Faculty of Applied Science & Technology in the M.Sc final examination.

He has excellent theoretical and applied knowledge in statistical modeling and inferences, multivariate analysis, sampling & sample survey, public health, biostatistics, bioinformatics, econometrics & time series analysis, data mining, and machine learning. He has a good control of data analysis with keen knowledge in computer programming and becoming an independent researcher with the intelligent understanding of R with bioconductor, MATLAB, SAS, SPSS (with syntax), STATA, Weka, EpiData, Atlas.ti & NVivo. Also he has good control of Latex, Math Type, and Mendeley (reference manager software). He has more than 20 research articles (peer reviewed) in the field of immunoinformatics, time series, econometrics, environmental statistics, sampling, and numerical methods in different renowned international journals including SCOPUS & SCI indexing journals with high impact factor. Now he is continuing his personal research in the field of biostatistics, public health, and especially in bioinformatics.

He has inspired to join CCRTB from his observation of many difficulties of cancer patients and also his research interest in cancer domain. He wants to continue his voluntary work with CCRTB for counseling the cancer patients with proper cancer related information and providing them possible financial support. As a statistician, he wants to contribute to develop a cancer mapping and database in Bangladesh. He is also interested to conduct computational research on cancer data and want to scatter the potential findings among all citizen of Bangladesh.
